CAUSATIVE FORM

Causative form is used to talk about what/who causes what.
We use:
 Make when there is force involved, there is no choice.
    I made my child  go to bed early yesterday.

Have when you request someone to do  something.
   The teacher has the students do exercise A.

Get when you persuade someone to do something for you.
   I usually get my sister to cook for me.

PARTICIPIAL ADJECTIVES

Adding the suffixes ED or ING we form  adjectives.

VERB   +   ED
                 ING    =    ADJECTIVES


surprise
excite
fascinate
depress
shock
confuse
embarrass
bore
frighten

ED.- describes how a person feels.                        I am interested in English.
                                                                                    adjective

ING.-describes the CAUSE of the feeling.             English is interesting.

WHO and WHAT as subjects or objects in a question.

Who came?                     Someone came.

What happened?              Something happened.
                                        subject

What did you buy?           I bought something.
                                                     object
Remember: no form of "DO"  is used in questions asking for the subject.

Why is this question "Who came to the party? correct?

Well, let me explain it to you .
WHO  asks for the subject and object of a question.Look at the following examples.

Someone called my mother.             Who called my mother?
subject

My mother called someone.              Who did my mother call?
                             object
Do not use the form of DO when asking for a subject.

ADJECTIVES

Someone asked this:
Why I can say:       She is a   beautiful     girl.
                                                            adjective         noun

 But I can’t say        She is      alike        Lucy.
                                            adjective         noun
First,let me tell you what an adjective is.
* An adjective is a word that describes nouns and prononuns.
Example:
               
1.) Sonia is pretty.        2.)Sonia is a pretty girl.
 
3.)She is nice.
Adjectives  come after linking verbs (be-look-seem -smell- taste-feel)
or before nouns.
But certain adjectives appear ONLY in the predicate of the sentence, and they can not appear DIRECTLY in front of the noun they describe.
Your sentence  "She is alike Lucy"  should be "She is like Lucy".

2.-MODALS AND THEIR MEANING
   A) CAN.-    expresses  ability in the present or future.
      COULD   .-  expresses ability in the past.
   B) MAY-MIGHT.- express possibility in the present or future.They have the same meaning.
   C).-COULD.- another meaning for this is possibility in the present or in the future.
   D)MAY I - COULD I - CAN I.- to ask polite questions about permission or agreement.
   E)WOULD YOU -  COULD YOU - WILL YOU -  CAN YOU.-to ask for someone`s help or cooperatrion.
    F)SHOULD -- OUGHT TO.-   express advice
         HAD BETTER   expresses advice and implies a warning about possible bad consequences.
    G)HAVE TO - MUST.- they express the idea that something is necessary (necessity)
    H)DO NOT HAVE TO - MUST NOT.- give the idea that something is NOT necessary.
    I) MUST.- to make logical conclusions.
