WHO and WHAT as subjects or objects in a question.

Who came?                     Someone came.
                                        subject

Who did you talk to?       I talked to someone.
                                                        object

What happened?              Something happened.
                                        subject

What did you buy?           I bought something.
                                                     object
Remember: no form of "DO"  is used in questions asking for the subject.
